Why Salah’s 20-minute cameo was actually ‘difficult’ – Klopp

Jurgen Klopp was keen not to go overboard in his praise for Mo Salah, the Egyptian who simply can’t stop scoring.

Eyebrows were raised when the 25-year-old was benched for last night’s clash with Stoke, but it turned out to be a clever decision from the boss, who was able to bring Salah on for the last twenty minutes and watch his summer signing bag a brace.

Salah’s goals were his 16th and 17th of his debut Liverpool season, meaning he’s already bettered our highest scorer for the past three campaigns.

“Thank you is all I said to Mohamed Salah, it is nice to come on in a situation like this,” Klopp said, reported in the Express.

“We have a lot of work to do, with Peter Crouch on the pitch it make it difficult and they are good on the ground but we have to keep fighting for the second ball.

“It was very deserved and we are very happy.”

This November, Mo Salah has scored eight goals!

Interestingly, Klopp was all the more impressed by the impact of the subs who were coming on in 3-degree weather.

“It is obviously good for us,” he told the official website. “It is difficult for all of the players coming on with this temperature. Last week we had a little bit of a problem [with the players that came on against Chelsea] and the next day more problems than the players that started; obviously sitting on the bench is not too nice, but today it worked really well. Two fantastic goals, to be honest.”

We’re pretty sure Salah will be back in the side for Brighton’s visit to Anfield on Saturday, however.

And few would bet against him maintaining his phenomenal record in front of goal.

A hat-trick would get him to a nice round 20… That’d be nice!
