If Marco Asensio turns out to be Liverpool’s long-term Coutinho replacement, we’ll dance in the street…
The phenomenal young Spaniard is currently disappointed with life at Real Madrid, with Zinedine Zidane only giving him 11 starts in La Liga this term.
As a result, he’s warned the club that he’ll look to exit if the situation doesn’t change before the end of the campaign.
Multiple reports, including this one in the Daily Star, suggests that we’re one of many European clubs keeping tabs on the situation.
Chelsea, Arsenal, Juventus and Bayern Munich are all ready to swoop in though should Asensio tell Real Madrid he sees his future elsewhere.
Sadly, we don’t think the situation will come to that. Asensio is simply too talented for Real Madrid to lose. With Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo in their thirties, and Gareth Bale injury prone, Los Blancos would be crazy to consider cashing in.
And they’re in a position of power, with Asensio signing a long-term contract extension in 2017.
It’s just not going to happen, unfortunately.
