If Liverpool signed Jerome Boateng, we’d probably have the best central defensive partnership in the world.
Virgil van Dijk is already elite, and although Dejan Lovren has improved massively alongside him, Boateng would still be an upgrade.
According to Sport Bild, Bayern Munich are willing to listen to offers for Boateng, as well as world-class Spanish midfielder Thiago, left-back Bernat and legendary Chilean Arturo Vidal.

A number of blogs, such as teamTALK, and even the Echo have linked Boateng to Liverpool on the back of this news, but to our knowledge, the original report doesn’t actually mention Liverpool, as journalist Chris Williams tells us:

For the first time in years, centre-back isn’t a priority for Liverpool.
We need a goalkeeper urgently, but van Dijk’s arrival has shored us up in the key roles ahead of the no.1.
Having said that, sometimes opportunities present themselves in the transfer market which cannot be ignored…
Boateng, who is a brilliant defender, is perhaps one of them, although we’d put in an enquiry for Thiago as well!
The issue with Boateng is his age, with Liverpool never splashing big money on people close to 30-years-old.
We think the rumour is bogus, sadly.
