We’re all for players praising team-mates and actively encourage it at Anfield!
But this from Bournemouth stopper Asmir Begovic is just ridiculous.
The veteran keeper has claimed Ryan Fraser, Callum Wilson and Josh King are as good as Liverpool’s world-renowned trio of Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.
Bournemouth have started the season well, with three wins, a draw and a loss. Fraser in particular has done well and is sitting on four goals already, but this kind of outlandish statement can only set them up for a fall.
‘Our front three are as good as anyone in the league,’ Begovic told the Mail. ‘We are a very attacking team, we want to attack and score goals.
‘They are up there with Liverpool’s front three when they are on form. The way we play suits them. They have a great understanding and long may it continue.’
Liverpool don’t play Bournemouth until December, and then again in February at Anfield.
All we can say is that we’ll see what Begovic has to say once our forward line is fully up and running around Christmas time and we travel to the Vitality Stadium!
The media will tell you Liverpool have yet to click offensively; but we’re five from five and the front-three have eight goals between them.
If this is them out of form, imagine what they’ll do when they find it!
