Jurgen Klopp was full of praise for Daniel Sturridge tonight after giving the Englishman his first start of the season.
The 28-year-old gave us our lead with a nicely taken header and actually could have put the game to bed if he was slightly more clinical with two other chances presented to him, one of which ended up with a Mo Salah goal being chalked off for a foul.
Klopp stated that Sturridge had a ‘super game’ and that he’s ‘never seen him as fit as fit as he is at the moment’.
Usually, Klopp negates his praise for Sturridge’s talent by also bringing his physical capabilities, or lack of them, but in the video below you’ll see he was genuinely impressed.
"Sturridge had a super game!" 🙌
"I've never seen him as fit as he is right now." 👏

It may have taken Sturridge three years to master Klopp’s tactical demands, but our attitude is that it’s better late than never!
If the striker can put in that kind of performance regularly when called upon, Liverpool will be laughing and able to compete on multiple fronts this term.
So far, we’re six from six and look like we can beat anybody on the planet.
