Reliable journo confirms Liverpool planning cut-price January transfer

Liverpool’s interest in Aaron Ramsey is very real.

This has been confirmed by James Olley in the Standard, who has his ear to the ground when it comes to developments at Arsenal.

The journalist states that due to the Welshman’s contract expiring at the end of this season, Liverpool will see if Arsenal are willing to sell him cheap in January, as they’ll get nothing if they wait until summer 2019 and he departs on a Bosman.

Olley suggests Liverpool are favourites for Ramsey’s signature, although Manchester United are also keen, with Jurgen Klopp ‘admiring’ the 26-year-old and considering him a cheap alternative to Nabil Fekir.

In our opinion, they’re quite different players, although Ramsey has been used as a no.10 under Unai Emery this term and done brilliantly, racking up fantastic numbers in terms of sprints and ball recoveries – two attributes Liverpool’s manager loves.

If Ramsey’s injury problems don’t resurface, it could be a clever deal, especially considering the fact Adam Lallana is simply not able to stay fit and James Milner will soon be 33.

One to keep an eye on, certainly.
