Jurgen Klopp was on brilliant form following Liverpool 1-0 Napoli tonight, suggesting he’s rarely been prouder of a team he’s managed.
The German also claimed the pressing on show, both at the front and the back, was simply jaw-dropping.
Liverpool’s win, thanks to a Mo Salah goal in the first-half and an Alisson save in the dying seconds, means we’re into the Last 16, which is played in February.
We’ve somehow managed to progress through the group, despite losing all three of our away fixtures!
“The Alisson save – I have no words for that. That was the lifesaver tonight,” Klopp told his post-match press-conference.
“I am not sure if a manager was ever more proud of a team as I am at the moment.
“I am still full of adrenalin, it was unbelievable. I am really proud about what the boys did tonight, some of it was the best I ever saw.
“Our offensive pressing and defending was some of the best I ever saw.”
Liverpool’s performance tonight proves we should fear absolutely nobody.
As we’ve finished second behind PSG, we’re likely to get a very difficult tie in the knockout stages, but teams will and should be more scared of us than we will be of them.
Bring on Real Madrid, and let’s get Sergio Ramos and co. to Anfield.
