Supporters were quick to pick up on an all-too relevant snap shot of a cloaked Dejan Lovren watching on during Tuesday’s goalless draw with Bayern Munich.
The Croatian was ruled out of the Champions League Round of 16 first leg with the same hamstring injury that has seen him sidelined since January 7.
His absence added to the suspension of Virgil van Dijk in leaving Fabinho to slot in as a make-shift centre-back alongside Joel Matip.
Lovren is now a doubt to face Manchester United at Old Trafford when Liverpool resume their Premier League title challenge this Sunday
Here’s how fans on social media reacted to the defender’s cameo…

Why does Lovren look like he's mourning Jack drowning in the icy waters of the Atlantic when there was CLEARLY enough room on the raft for TWO people. pic.twitter.com/2vAcCDNcv3

Why is Lovren dressed like he's guarding the perimeter forest of an old-fashioned village purposefully being kept in the dark ages by an Elders conspiracy pic.twitter.com/QISIlsHF1u
