With lots of football supporters across the country wanting to see the Reds lose the Champions League final for fear of fans being ‘unbearable’, Spurs fans have been quick to quell the myth.
As ever, thousands of Reds supporters travelled to Madrid even though they were not in possession of a ticket, with incredible scenes around the Spanish capital taking place as a result.
The party started well before the game, and while both sides were desperate to win the match for obvious reasons, there was respect between the teams throughout.
These tweets are just a few of those which heaped praise on Reds fans in Spain.
The myth about Liverpool being “unbearable” and how everyone said they always act the victims is an absolute myth and bullshit to be honest.
They’ve been nothing short of respectful to us and especially those in Madrid, heard loads of them went to console our lot after the game

The respect & class shown from the vast majority of those who support Liverpool & Tottenham towards each other has been a credit to English football #UCL

All credit to Liverpool, losing the last final, doing so well in the league and still not winning, made up for it tonight, kept going and it payed off, amazing club. We need to learn from them, this is hopefully the start of something good.

The celebrations will continue all summer – and then we’ll do it all again next year.
