Reds reportedly well-placed to swoop for interesting 21-goal forward

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing FC Porto striker Moussa Marega this summer, with Jurgen Klopp on the lookout for a forward player to come in as back-up for the first-choice front three.

That’s according to Foot Mercato, who claim the Reds are ‘hot’ on the striker.

It’s the first time he’s been linked with the Reds, but Manchester United and Chelsea have been linked with the forward in the past.

It was believed that the club, including Michael Edwards, who is the main man when it comes to recruitment, were looking for a more versatile forward player, but his goals record is certainly worth a look.

The Reds are said to be ‘better equipped’ than all of the other sides in for Marega.

Last season, he scored 21 times in 47 games, and he is potent from crosses, which Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold are experts at.

The report claims that the Reds would need to pay €30 million to sign the 28-year-old, which is not that much in the general market for someone with those goalscoring figures. West Ham United and Marseille are also said to be interested.

Whether the interest from the Reds firms up into a bid, time will tell. With that kind of goal record at that sort of price, though, it does make a lot of sense.
