Harvey Elliott has been exciting Reds fans already in the few minutes he has spent on the pitch wearing a Liverpool shirt – and his former teammate at Fulham says the hype is completely justified.
Aleksandar Mitrovic knows Elliott well having played with him last season at Fulham and he believes he is a top talent in the making.
According to Kop Spot, presenter Jim White said on Sky Sports News on Tuesday that Mitrovic had been speaking to him about Elliott, and he could hardly have been more enthusiastic about the winger’s talents.
White said: “I was talking to Aleksandar Mitrovic the other day at Fulham and he was saying to me: ‘Harvey Elliott, wow’.
“He’s someone that really excites him, he’s someone that really excites him.”
Comparisons have already been made to Bernardo Silva and Gareth Bale, and while that might be slightly premature given he is only 16 and still has a lot to do in order to fulfil his potential, there is clearly a top player there that the Reds have unearthed.

Elliott will be spending time at Melwood training with the first team this season and could well feature for the senior side in competitive matches on a few occasions, though he will play more often than not for the U23s.
There is also a chance that he could go out on loan, with a long line of Premier League and Championship sides expected to be interested in a temporary deal should the Reds make clear that is an option for him.
