Liverpool’s U21 team lost 3-2 to Oldham in the EFL Trophy this evening, but Harvey Elliott was a bright spark all game.
The former Fulham man netted his first goal for the Reds in what was a decent outing for him. You can watch the video of the goal below, as he reacts to a rebound following good work from Curtis Jones.

Elliott played 65 minutes in the match until he was replaced by Jack Bearne. Having impressed in pre-season in brief spells for the first-team, it was exactly what he needed to kick on again.
The winger will be glad to have gotten off the mark in a red shirt straight away. Sometimes, players can start to feel the pressure if they don’t net early on in their careers.
Elliott is going to be a fantastic player to watch over the coming seasons; he’s such an exciting talent.

The Reds have an excellent crop of players coming through at the moment. Sepp van den Berg also looked assured against Oldham in his first start for the club, while Adam Lewis was also impressive.
