What is the point in VAR if decisions checked by a referee on video are still so obviously wrong?
That is a question that simply must be asked, in short.
Chelsea were awarded a penalty in Extra Time of the Super Cup tonight, with Liverpool 2-1 up, but it quite clearly shouldn’t have been allowed…
Below, we’ve included the reaction from Liverpool fans on Twitter – which shows exactly what we all feel.
Adrian simply didn’t foul Tammy Abraham.
Madness.
We hope this VAR experiment is either fixed quickly, or gotten rid of – because it’s ruining the game.
Please someone explain how this is a penalty?! Like seriously? #lfc pic.twitter.com/9mmTfRi6cH

VAR officials should probably watch BT Sport and look at the angle where it is pretty much 100% not a penalty.

What’s the point of VAR to confirm whether that’s a penalty or not? Fucking shambles.

That shows how useless VAR is. Never a penalty.

What’s the point in VAR exactly? Never a penalty.

That was not a penalty.
