Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount is unlikely to feature against us on Sunday after picking up an ankle injury in the Champions League match against Valencia.
Mount was forced off after a nasty challenge from ex-Arsenal man Francis Coquelin in the first half.
The Athletic have revealed that the youngster has avoided ligament damage and has already begun his rehabilitation.
But according to football.london, Frank Lampard will probably have to find a replacement – potentially former Everton player Ross Barkley – for the weekend at least.
He would be a big miss against the Reds after seizing the chance provided to him by Lampard with three goals in his first seven appearances.
Only he, Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori have scored for the Londoners in the league this season.
Another, perhaps even more significant, absentee could be midfielder N’Golo Kante, who has not featured in their last three games.
Kante showed with his superb performance against us in the UEFA Super Cup last month just how vital he is.
