Pep Guardiola is clearly feeling the pressure right now…
His bizarre tantrum on the touchline at Anfield on Sunday was a prelude to an even stranger situation in which he sarcastically congratulated all of our players and the referee.
He has a habit of mentioning Liverpool every time he’s in a press-conference, and managed to label Sadio Mane a diver 10 days back in the buildup to our 3-1 Anfield win.
According to The Athletic, there is ‘a feeling in some circles’ that this season will be the Spaniard’s last in England – with a switch back to Bayern Munich not an impossibility.
And yesterday Sport Bild (via Sport Witness) boldly said Pep is ‘no longer happy’ at the Etihad.
The nine-point gap between Jurgen Klopp and Guardiola right now is the biggest after 12 games of any season in his managerial career.
That says a lot about our phenomenal start, and also goes to show cracks appearing over at City.
We’d honestly love Pep to depart City, as it would likely mean a rebuilding period – something we could hopefully take advantage of considering our team is currently at the peak of its cycle.
One thing’s for sure, though – if we’re to get the job done this term – it will be versus the genius Spaniard.
