Things have gone rather quiet on the Liverpool-Andre front, though it’s understood that Jurgen Klopp remains an admirer of the Fluminense star.

Jacque Talbot, reporting for Football Transfers, confirmed the player ‘remains liked’ by the manager ahead of the January transfer window, though, critically, ‘as one of several options’.

That shouldn’t necessarily come as a worry for Reds fans given the club’s propensity to do due diligence when it comes to building a shortlist capable of withstanding competition from other elite outfits.

We certainly may have to be prepared for the idea that we could lose out on Andre to a fellow Premier League side with Talbot reporting that ‘several clubs’ are set to send their head scouts to watch the Brazilian among a host of other up and coming talents playing in the Copa Libertadores this November.

There is, of course, every possibility that we are the club that ends up with the highly sought-after holding midfielder in the January window – a time in which the player should become far more accessible with the shutters having then been closed on Brazil’s top-flight.
