Rodgers Out: Liverpool ‘fan’ plots high-flying message…

A frustrated Liverpool fan has appealed for donations towards a plane that will fly a ‘Rodgers Out’ banner over Anfield during the club’s game with Chelsea on Saturday.

The #RodgersOut twitter page, which currently has 2,278 followers, sent the following tweet on Sunday, the day after Liverpool’s fourth Premier League defeat of the season against Newcastle.

Liverpool have struggled this season, with manager Brendan Rodgers particularly criticised for his actions in the transfer market, that has seen him spend in excess of £200m since his arrival at the club in 2012.

However, the ploy has received deserved ridicule from other Liverpool fans, who are desperate to keep faith with the boss who of course led the club to second place in the Premier League last season, and a return to Champions League football.

It is also worth noting that Rodgers has been responsible for two major signings during his time at the club – Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho, who have both been excellent since their arrival in January 2013.
