Inter Milan are set to accept a £21.5m offer from Liverpool for Mateo Kovacic. Honestly, we were tempted just to copy and paste our last story on this, as we’re pretty sure that’s what Italian publication Tuttosport have done.

The sports website – who are referenced here by the Daily Mirror – have certainly developed an irritating habit of teasing us with their stories, despite little evidence to suggest that they’re actually telling the truth.
Our need for a new right-back and a second striker certainly seem to be more pressing at the moment, although fans would equally love a top central midfielder signed as well.
We’d all be happy to see Kovacic sign – the talented young Croatian could become something very special – but with James Milner already having come in to replace Steven Gerrard, and with Jordan Henderson, Joe Allen, Emre Can and Lucas Leiva also lining up for a midfield spot, he’d have a job earning an immediate first-team start.
Still, signing a glamorous star would certainly boost fan morale following the three Bosmans currently completed.
