West Ham ready shock multi-million bid for crocked Daniel Sturridge

This story certainly piqued our interest today.

It’s from the Brentwood Gazzette, who sometimes break stories coming out of West Ham.

And it claims that the Hammers are prepared to bid £18m for Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge this January.

The report claims Sturridge’s injury problems with us mean it could be time for the player and club to part ways, and that Slaven Bilic’s top-four aspirations could provide the striker a fresh start.

Sturridge hasn’t played for us since early December, and his four goals this season have come from a measly four starts – leaving many fans to give up on the extremely talented but barbarically frustrating 26-year-old.

For the rumoured price, Liverpool may be tempted into allowing the striker to leave so we can simply move on from his ongoing injury sagas.

Of course – the most heartbreaking outcome would be to sell Sturridge and watch him miraculously regain full health elsewhere in the Premier League. We’re not sure we could handle that after waiting patiently waiting for his return for over a year and a half, and would prefer if we have to offload to do it abroad.

Ultimately, we just want these injuries to end. There aren’t many footballers around you’d swap a fit Daniel Sturridge for.
