Congratulations on an incredible achievement, Jordan Henderson.
England’s interim manager Gareth Southgate announced today that the Liverpool midfielder would captain his country in Tuesday night’s friendly against Spain.
This will be the second time Henderson leads out the team, having also worn the armband in last month’s 0-0 draw against Slovenia.
It marks more good Liverpool-related news and we couldn’t be happier for the Reds skipper.
Many have been quick to disagree with the decision to make Henderson captain, but there are very few members of the England squad that can match his leadership qualities.
Besides this, there are very few members of the England squad that are playing as well as he is this season.
The 26-year-old will take the place of Wayne Rooney in what promises to be a tough match up against an array of gifted Spanish midfielders.
Fans have taken to Twitter to congratulate the former Sunderland man.
Fair play to Jordan Henderson, really improving under Klopp. Looks comfortable in a role that’s making him influential in matches for #LFC

The biggest regret I have is that I gave up on Jordan Henderson. Sorry captain. You are a leader. A beast. #YNWA
