Ryan Babel is gearing up for another season at Anfield

Posted by

Ryan Babel together with Dirk Kuyt, Pepe Reina and Fernando Torres should be returning to Melwood on Monday but based on the Dutchman’s Tweets one can easily determine that Ryan is eager to get his season going.

I have been following Ryan ever since he started Tweeting and never have I seen so many Tweets from him about Liverpool.

This morning for example he Tweeted:

“LIVERPOOL !!!!”

“RT if u love LIVERPOOL !!!”

After over 100 Liverpool fans Retweeted it he followed it by

“Mmm lots of LFC fans on here !!! Beautiful !!!”

When the rumour came out on him being traded to AC Milan for Klass-Jan Huntelaar he RTed the following
LFC FANS DON’T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ IN NEWSPAPERS, WAIT UNTIL YOU GET RIGHT INFORMATION

Last week he was even inquiring on how he can watch the Liverpool pre-season game.

Not sure if he had a conversation with Roy Hodgson but I tell you Ryan is pumped up and ready to prove himself to the new gaffer.

The Dutchman who joined Liverpool from Ajax in 2007 came to Anfield with high expectations but so far has not been able to live up to the promise. He has scored some jaw dropping goals such as the ones against Arsenal and Lyon in the Champions league. After inconsistencies, he found himself benched and then later got into hot water for his famous Twitter rant. Maybe Rafa’s style of management didn’t fit with Ryan who now has a chance to start with a clean slate under Roy Hodgson.

Good Luck Ryan.

  1. I will say the same thing I said to Ryan. He had a turbulent time under Rafa, he didnt play in the world cup – So he should have cut his holiday short to go back and impress the new manager.

  2. I hope he will get regular football under Roy Hodgson bcos his prefered position is playing as a striker, and him with Torres would make a deadly partnership, on the wing Joe Cole, after them Gerrard and Aquilani. YNW.

  3. I really hope that Roy gives Ryan a chance unlike the manager before him this lad has all the potential to become a fantastic footballer for liverpool fc with rafa he was frightened to death to do any thing he wanted to do on the pitch if he got on the pitch this young man has pace to burn and in todays football that is the biggest asset god can give i have had diputes over Ryan with fellow reds but i no this man has what it takes to become what i have always new he could be a world beater so good luck Ryan for the comming season please relax now rafa has gone and show the reds around the world the reason liverpool football club invested in your talents

  4. I think towards the end of last season, Ryan played a lot better than previously. Rafa showed a lot more faith in him vis a vis game time. Hopefully Roy Hodgson will do the same. PS I’m following him on twitter too! ;)

  5. If he is so all-fired ready surely he should have been dusting off the cobwebs by playing in Macedonia? Methinks summit afoot!!

  6. You can’t blame him for playing badly he was converted from a striker into virtually a left back. Can anyone name one flair player that actually performed consistently under Rafa? Pennant, Gonzalez, Riera, ….etc etc. The pattern of failure with exciting players for Rafa is pretty clear. Let’s hope Roy gives them a little freedom and injects some fun into pool.

  7. @ mop ed… Naa the Lad is a great player, Under the carefull guidence of RH, He will show us ALL what he can do on the park.. Y.N.W.A Ryan …… :)

  8. Can somebody please point out to me when Ryan Babel has played as a striker? I have been living in the Netherlands for the past 5 years and watched him closely during his Ajax days and also at the U21 Europeans a few years back and he doesn’t play striker. He is always a wing forward. I lived in the area where he grew up (The Bijlmer) and he played as a Striker when he was about 16 but was shifted out to the wing because he couldn’t hold the ball up and couldn’t play with his back to goal (this comes from a guy who grew up with him), slightly more reliable than the English press I think. Please stop believing what the gutter press sprouts out at you. This whole thing came about because the UK media wanted to have another dig at Rafa for playing a player out of position when it wasn’t the case. He may want to play as a striker but so do I, doesn’t necessarily mean I am one.

    Rant Over.

  9. Liv’pool will land the Epl this season if they start this players: Reina,bridge,Agger/skrtel,carragher,johnson,Aquilani,jovanovic,cole,Gerrad,babel and torres. Using 4-1-3-2,they would be invincible to even man.city, i think lucas is surplus in the squad.YNWA.my number is +2348131178643

  10. Ryan i hope you have a great season. And don’t listen to everybody who is dissing you. You are a great player who is very very fast. I think that many defender have trouble with you. When you played with Ajax you did great and now with the new gaffer you can prove how good you are. Oure best footbal players went to the worldcup and you are one of them, you all did a great job and in the final. Be proud !!!!
And as we say in Holland : de beste stuurlui staan aan wal ( this means that people who don’t play always now best).
