Probably realising his mistake made on ITV last night, captain Steven Gerrard has taken to Instagram to play down the Mario Balotelli penalty incident.

The Italian took the ball from designated taker and captain Jordan Henderson, and although Balotelli bagged, Gerrard vented his disappointment in the ITV studio after the match.
Many Reds were irritated that our skipper aired his anger in public, especially when stand-in skipper Henderson was capable of hiding any anger in the post-match interview.
Hopefully this message from Gerrard will put the issue to bed.
