3) Gordon Hodgson – 241

The South African born forward joined the Reds in 1925 and went on to make over 300 appearances before joining Aston Villa and then Leeds United. He stayed in football as a manager until his untimely death in 1951.

2) Roger Hunt – 285

One of the heroes of England’s successful World Cup campaign in 1966. Despite being a huge asset to the Three Lions, he was even more important to Liverpool, helping us win our first FA Cup as well as the First Division title.

1) Ian Rush – 346

The Welshman was prolific in his first and second spells at Liverpool, taking a year out to play for Juventus in between. He eventually left the Reds for good in 1996 but his record remains and looks unlikely to be broken.
