Lazar Markovic has completed his season-long loan move from Liverpool to Fenerbahce. The Serbian midfielder was in Turkey this weekend and has today put pen to paper on a short term deal.
Markovic, who signed for the Reds from Benfica last summer, made 34 appearances and scored three goals during his first season at Anfield – although the campaign as a whole was a disappointing one for the 21-year-old, as he struggled to hold down a regular place in Brendan Rodgers’ side.

The move, which was confirmed via a short statement on our official website, will see Markovic join up with former Liverpool midfielder Raul Meireles – who moved to the Super Lig side in 2012. He’ll also be linking up with ex-Manchester United duo Robin van Persie and Nani, who both joined the club this summer.
Fenerbahce finished second in the Turkish top flight last season and subsequently qualified for the Europa League. On Friday they were drawn in Group A alongside Ajax, Celtic and Molde, while Liverpool will be in Group B.
We wish Lazar all the best for this season.
