Lucas Moura speaks up potential Premier League move, with Liverpool & Man United linked

Last week news broke in France that Liverpool had made an initial contact with Ligue 1 behemoths PSG regarding Lucas Moura, and the player has now reacted positively to news that us, along with Manchester United, are interested.

The 23-year-old has been with PSG since January 2013 having signed from Sao Paulo, and while always being an important squad player, Moura hasn’t yet made that leap to world-class, as many suggested he would.

With Angel di Maria, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani ahead of him in the pecking order this season, the player may want to eventually quit.

“It is clear that the Premier League is very strong,” he told SporTV, cited in the Echo.

“If an opportunity comes later and I no longer have the desire to play here, I would take the decision and I would play for another club.

“I’m happy to generate interest from major European clubs, if the interest exists it shows that people trust me and would count on me.”

In January though we can’t see Moura leaving. PSG are desperate for Champions League glory and won’t weaken their chances by selling top players ahead of the Last 16 clash with Chelsea.

What’s more, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is 34-years-old and out of contract in the summer, and there’s no guarantee he won’t leave PSG come the end of the campaign.

In this instance Cavani could move central to his favoured no.9 position allowing Moura an automatic start on one of the flanks.

An amazing potential signing, sure, but probably an unrealistic one.
