Klopp: “Hamstring is the sh*t word of the year for me,” after Origi injury

Jurgen Klopp bemoaned yet another injury today, with Divock Origi sadly limping off after a very promising start to the victory over Leicester today.

Merseyside based journalist Tony Barrett tweeted Klopp’s quote from the post-match press conference, with Origi’s replacement Christian Benteke securing us an important 1-0 victory over Leicester City.

The comments indicate Origi’s injury could be a bad one, which is the last thing we need after a season jam packed full of muscle problems.

Already this term, Mamadou Sakho, Coutinho, James Milner, Daniel Sturridge, Simon Mignolet and Jordan Rossiter have suffered debilitating hamstring problems which has kept them out of matches.

Origi lasted only 37 minutes this Boxing Day, but showed in enough in that time to suggest he’s very much adapting to Klopp’s style and demands. He worked the channels and closed down defenders, and could’ve scored twice had his finishing have been clinical.

Let’s hope he’ll be back soon as his development in recent weeks has been seriously encouraging.
