Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has some good and some indifferent news on our current injury situation, but the real question regarding the result of Divock Origi’s scan has been left unanswered.

The manager told a press-conference today that Jordon Ibe, who missed the Boxing Day fixture with Leicester with an illness, is back training, but that vice-captain James Milner would still need another week.

Origi, who pulled a hamstring and left the field after 37 minutes on Saturday, is still waiting for the result of his scan and Klopp couldn’t provide an update yet as a result.

The official @LFC account live-tweeted the news as the German spoke:

This means that only Ibe will be available for the trip to Sunderland in two days’ time, although it’s likely that he’ll be used from the bench following our win last time out.

The winger provides great pace and width so is a good option to have if we’re winning so as to add threat on the counter attack, or if we need a goal – due to his ability to beat a man close to the opposition penalty area.
