Liverpool have made our move for Polish midfielder Piotr Zielinski, according to Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolo Shira.

The reporter suggests Jurgen Klopp wants the move finalised quickly, and the club has submitted the official offer to Udinese – who own the 22-year-old international who’s expected to head to Euro 2016 this summer.

Zielinski currently plays for Empoli, where he’s enjoying a very successful loan spell. This term, he’s been an automatic starter in their midfield, and has so far registered four goals and four assists apiece.

He prides himself on an ability to dribble through the midfield and on his excellent technical skills. He’s slight, but craves possession and likes to play short passes.

Our interest in the player is well publicised, since he confirmed talks with Klopp (via Metro) back in April.

“There is a lot of truth in rumours about Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp is interested in me, we had some talks,” Zielinski told Polish outlet Sportowe Fakty.

If the reported bid is correct, it shows Klopp and his team want to get this summer’s business done quickly.

Zielinski will be the second central midfielder to arrive this upcoming window, with Marko Grujic already confirmed.
