England Under-19s hit the ground running last night in their opening game of the European Championships, as did Liverpool’s wonderkid Sheyi Ojo, who started on the right wing v France.
The young Lions won 2-1, thanks to own goal and an effort from Dominic Solanke, but both were made by our teenage sensation.
First, Ojo beat his left-back and fired in a dangerous low cross, which Jerome Onguene could only send into his own net, before sending Solanke through on goal soon afterwards with a nicely weighted through-ball.
It’s a shame Ojo isn’t currently on pre-season with Liverpool, but he’ll pick up vital experience of tournament competition, and will meet up with Jurgen Klopp and his team-mates in America upon England’s exit (or maybe triumph!).
