Liverpool are offloading a multitude of players this summer, but our squad depth is still very strong, especially considering we’re not playing in Europe.
Here are two potential XIs Jurgen Klopp could select this coming season, should his players remain fit.
We’ve not included Allen, Smith, Benteke, Markovic, Lucas, Flanagan, Ilori, Luis Alberto or Balotelli as they’re likely to be sold before the campaign gets under way.
But still, the likes of Manninger, Ojo, Brannagan, Stewart and Chirivella cannot even get into our second team right now, such are the options at Klopp’s disposal.
In terms of incomings, we only expect a left-back to arrive now, with Jetro Willems or Ben Chilwell the most publicised targets (via Mirror) following finalised deals for seven new players so far.
The new left-back would slot into either the first or second XI, depending on whether he can usurp Alberto Moreno from Klopp’s first-choice side.
There’s arguments that the likes of Gini Wijnaldum and James Milner should be considered first-teamers, and these are not without merit, but the team is likely to change and mould throughout the campaign depending on form and fitness anyway.
