FSG – and specifically club chairman Tom Werner – ruled out selling the club earlier today.
In a wide-ranging interview with the Echo, Werner was adamant the club was not for sale, though he admitted they’d be willing to talk to minority investors.

We’re big fans of FSG here at EOTK – they brought us back from the brink financially, they’ve the only owners in 25 years who’ve followed through on their promises of stadium expansion, and they’ve help bring some great talent to the club.
Nonetheless, some people aren’t happy. On Twitter, a lot of people have been questioning whether or not this latest interview is all a charade… What do you think?
@harikriss FSG and Werner in particular biggest skill is PR, most Liverpool fans don’t even realise they employ a PR company for their image

But great FSG are staying we will have another 5 years of Linda tweeting about her pretend love for “soccer” and Liverpool

The new Main Stand is almost done and people still think FSG has done nothing for Liverpool. I’m at a loss. pic.twitter.com/NxTjyUHd4p

@FirmiFatale @Gregoris96_YNWA FSG just can’t be trusted. Not interested in football or making Liverpool successful, it’s all about money
— Klopp (@Helentinho) August 19, 2016
@TheAS791 @Rant3r but seriously, if FSG were that awful, terrible, disgusting etc, would they have gotten Klopp?
— Percy. (@LiverpoolTruly) August 19, 2016
@TheAS791 @Rant3r but most fans (rightly or wrongly) seem satisfied with FSG. If they weren’t, us and FSG would know about it

@macca1980haribo @mux441 FSG have always strived for LFC to be self sustaining and that’s exactly what a new stand will offer.

FSG are good in ehat they do now,but from what I can tell, they arent what we call “people persons” are they? #LFC Allen, Raheeem,Torres etc
— My Liverpool FC (@My_Liverpool_FC) August 19, 2016
@macca1980haribo @mux441 FSG are more likely to look for investment than to sell seeing as they’re a sports investment company.
— Liverpool To My Core (@Lisa_Marie74) August 19, 2016
@RaphaelAndrews4 As FSG fans say. We develop stars. And then sell them. In doings things ‘The Liverpool Way’.

@lfc‘s net spend is now MINUS £23 million. Do you really think this is acceptable for a club the size of Liverpool? @John_W_Henry #fsg
— Dele Klopp (@deleLFCwilliams) August 18, 2016
Liverpool are the 7th most valuable club in the world. Net spend is -£23m. Ambition from FSG that….
