Klopp throws down the gauntlet to fans visiting Anfield this weekend

After a (let’s be honest – boring) international break, the mighty Reds are back in action this weekend.

The game against Leicester City will be a famous moment in the club’s history as we play in front of almost 55,000 fans for the first time since the late 1970s.

After months of waiting, work on the new Main Stand is now complete, and it will be officially unveiled as the Premier League champions come to town this weekend for what will be our first home game of the new season.

In his pre-match press conference, Klopp has been speaking about the effect he hopes the new stand will have on the team and the atmosphere.

He has been rightly critical of fans inside Anfield in the past, both for leaving early and failing to generate enough atmosphere outside of the big games.

“This is our first home game and with 8,000 more in the stadium – that’s more power and we should use this,” he said (via Echo).

““It’s a wonderful opportunity for us”.

Kick off against the Foxes is at 5:30pm BST on Saturday afternoon.
