Klopp jokingly takes the credit for Coutinho wonder goal

Jurgen Klopp jokingly took the credit for Phil Coutinho’s wonder goal against Hull City yesterday.

The Brazilian provided the perfect tonic to conceding a goal when he had the ball in the back of Hull’s net just NINE passes later.

The goal itself was another stunner, as he curled into the far side netting from more than 25 yards out.

When asked about the goal in his post-match press conference, Klopp briefly suggested he was the mastermind behind it.

“I would like to take the credit for his shooting ability,” he laughed (official site)

He soon relented. “I’m not responsible for this. It’s very good”

He did, however, explain how we managed to create the room for Coutinho to take the shot.

“All his goals he scored were because we created the spaces, not to force [him] to shoot like this,” he revealed.

The goal was Coutinho’s third of the season in the league. He scored an equally spectacular goal against Arsenal on the opening day of the season, and also bagged the third in that same game.

After only finding the net eight times last season, he is already well on the way to having his best goal-scoring season in his career.
