Klopp highlights the biggest problem his Liverpool side still struggle with

After such a great start to the season, it’s easy to get carried away and think everything is perfect and we’ll win the league by 20 points.

Of course, there are still some rather serious issues that need to be addressed.

Firstly, we haven’t kept a clean sheet all season. Secondly, we still concede an inordinate amount of goals from set-pieces. The game against Hull saw another one hit the net as David Meyler slammed home a consolation goal from a Hull corner.

In fact, we have conceded 49 goals under Klopp, with almost one-third (15) of them coming from set-pieces.

It needs to be sorted out – when we come up against the top sides we will inevitably get punished.

Thankfully, Klopp knows it. He says there is still a lot of work to do.

“There’s still a lot of work to do. 49!!! That’s a big number. That number from set-pieces isn’t good. It’s an issue for us.

“Not a big one this year as we’ve done much better but of course it doesn’t feel good against Hull when they have no chances and you give a goal away like we did.

“When I came in we had to change a few things and formations and we played against some specialists from set-pieces – West Brom, Palace, West Ham. It’s more about how we react in the moment. We’ve found a formation now where we feel more comfortable.” (cited on Echo)

Swansea are up next and they are not renowned for being set-piece specialists. We might have to wait a bit longer until we see whether or not the training ground drills are finally starting to pay off.
