Klopp describes the type of game expects to see in Liverpool vs Man Utd clash

Jurgen Klopp has been speaking to the media ahead of our game against Jose Mourinho’s Man Utd side at Anfield on Monday night.

Klopp has not yet beaten United in the league – we lost 1-0 to them at Anfield last January. However, he has had considerably more success on the European circuit, as a pulsating 2-0 at Anfield followed by a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford saw us dump them out of last season’s Europa League in the last 16. It means he goes into this weekend’s game with a record of P3, W1, D1, L1.

The German described the two Europa League games as “really nice”, before telling the press what he thinks will happen on Monday.

“We are really looking forward to what will be a fantastic game at Anfield,” he said (Echo)

“Those Europa League games were really nice. Both games were intense and competitive. We were better in the first game at Anfield. We had a fantastic atmosphere and the players were inspired by that.

“[In the second leg] United were on top but we killed that atmosphere with Philippe’s wonderful goal in the 45th minute. From then on it wasn’t that difficult any more.”
