Gini Wijnaldum given Netherlands call-up after getting injured last time out

Posted by

Gini Wijnaldum has been called up to the Netherlands squad which will play a friendly against Belgium and a World Cup qualifier in Luxembourg next month. (FourFourTwo).

Wijnaldum was injured on his last international call-up and was ruled out of the visit of Man Utd to Anfield earlier this month as a result.

The injury was especially controversial after it was revealed Wijnaldum complained of a problem at half-time, but was sent out for the second half by Dutch boss Danny Blind regardless.

The Dutch have had a less than impressive start to their qualifying campaign for the Russia 2018 World Cup. They are currently third in Group A with just four points from their opening three games. They already trail leaders France by three points after being beaten by them earlier this month.
