Thierry Henry pays Liverpool enormous compliment

Arguably the Premier League’s greatest ever footballer Thierry Henry has waxed lyrical about Liverpool’s form so far this term…

It’s hard not to like the former Arsenal man, despite the number of times he put us to the sword, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports alongside our own Jamie Carragher.

Henry was discussing Jurgen Klopp’s side following our victory against Crystal Palace at the weekend and claimed that he always makes sure to watch us because it’s so pleasing on the eye.

“I enjoy watching them play. The desire they have, the commitment, the pressure that they put. But you mentioned there is a word, hope, I think that is one of the most important things – Liverpool fans actually hope they can win the league,” Henry told Sky Sports, cited in the Echo.

“At the moment, they are at it. And I think they have the edge on others because of the games they have had away from home, and how they win games, that’s the thing that surprises me. The only thing is when they play against a team that waits against them, United or Burnley, at times they struggle to find a way to win leagues. But if you go at them or try to put pressure, it’s great. Whenever they play I watch because they are a joy to watch .”

It’s nice to be a Liverpool fan right now. We’re clearly under the right management in Jurgen Klopp and his back-room staff and the squad is young, exciting and full of talent. We’ve got Watford at Anfield this weekend and we’d love another three points – meaning we’ll return from the international break joint top of the table at the very least.
