Young Reds prospect hoping to adapt to English football in the same way as Liverpool’s star attacking duo

Hoping to match the likes of Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino is certainly a good way for a young player to motivate himself to improve.

Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic is keen to eventually settle into English football and have a key impact in the same way the Brazilian pair were able to.

The 20-year-old has highlighted how it took both men a while to adapt but how he is determined to overcome the difficult task of starting fresh at a new club in the way that they did.

He told Liverpoolfc.com: “I know Phil from when he played at Inter and he showed some crazy technical abilities.”

“But it was very hard for him when he came, to adapt to faster football and much more physical football. Roberto was the same – he had small problems for adapting when he came too.”

“But now look at how they play, scoring many goals and they are heroes for our fans. That’s what I will try to do and make for myself.”

Both Coutinho and Firmino worked tirelessly to find their place at Liverpool and rediscover the form that had earned them the move to Merseyside in the first place.

That is exactly what Grujic must do, and there are no signs as of yet to suggest he is doing anything other than working hard.

It takes a good player deep down and a mentally strong man to overcome the difficulties that so many players experience following a big move to a club in England.

Grujic looked as though he had started to find his feet in the pre-season friendlies alone, so we can only be excited by what is to come from the Serbian.
