Liverpool fans: Klopp’s delivered some bad news on Coutinho…
He’d scored his 13th goal of the campaign a little earlier, but when he departed the pitch, fans feared the worst…
Now, the best we can hope for is that his operation goes well and he’s fit in time for pre-season.
“Sadio, we are pretty sure will need surgery. Not 100% sure when it will happen,” Klopp began.
“It will be pretty much impossible for him to play again this season. He’ll have a long break now…
“That’s what I expected. I thought he was lucky not more happened. He will be ready for the next season. That’s the only good news.”
Klopp lamented the fact he has nobody of Mane’s ilk to bring in, but at the same time said there’s nothing he can do about that right now and will strive to do the best with what he has at his disposal.
Without Mane, Divock Origi has come in and done very well, but the young Belgian, Coutinho and Roberto Firmino will need to maintain their best level from now until the end of the campaign.
In Mane’s absence, we haven’t won a game all season in the Premier League.
“I would love to replace an injury player with the player of same quality,” Klopp continued.
“Maybe his brother or twin..
“Having too much quality is not always good. In this moment we can’t change it. Why should I think about it?”
