Fabio Borini accused of unbelievable disrespect to Sunderland.. but he didn’t do it

Fabio Borini was never, ever good enough to play for Liverpool and was one of Brendan Rodgers’ worst signings.

We did well to recoup a decent amount of money for him from Sunderland, but the Black Cats have now turned on the Italian, as well as his team-mates.

Last night, they lost to Middlesbrough, all but confirming their relegation (as if we drew against them, twice…) and Sunderland’s supporters ridiculed the team.

According to Craig Hope of the Daily Mail, fans sung ‘You’re not fit to wear the shirt,’ and as a result, Borini gave his top to a ‘Boro fan!

This would have been unbelievably disrespectful, but it’ didn’t happen like that.

Borini had actually hit a watching kid with a wayward shot (not hard to imagine…) during the warm-up and was simply doing a nice gesture by giving that same child his shirt after the match.

So if you see any stories about the forward behaving abhorrently – ignore them. His conduct, unlike his team’s football, was faultless.
