Klopp discusses Liverpool’s transfer plans
What’s more, Van Dijk is desperate to join Liverpool having been convinced of our project by Jurgen Klopp – and would unlikely sign for one of our rivals this summer anyway.
The centre-back has been earmarked by our manager as key to our summer transfer plans, after a disappointing season defensively in 2016/17.
Hopefully, we’ll eventually agree a deal with reluctant Southampton and line up next term with the powerhouse alongside either Joel Matip or Dejan Lovren – who’ll have to battle it out to play alongside him.
Left-back Andrew Robertson is another likely arrival, and with Trent Alexander-Arnold playing so well, we could almost have an entirely new back-four for 2017/18!
