Perhaps he’s a little biased due to the fact his best friend is Jurgen Klopp, but David Wagner was unequivocal when asked who he thinks will win this year’s Premier League.
“Liverpool!” was his one word answer when posed the question by journalists.
Wagner got Huddersfield promoted to the Premier League via the Play-Offs last season, and is readying the Terriers for their first campaign in the highest division since the 1980s.

“It is unquestionable that we are the biggest underdog of all time in the Premier League,” Wagner told Sky Sports.
“People have been going to the stadium here for many years and have always seen this typical British football.
“And suddenly two clowns come from Germany [Wagner and his assistant Christoph Buhler], and within four weeks the football looks quite different!”
We’re very much looking forward to seeing Wagner’s side in action, actually, and barring Huddersfield’s two fixtures against Liverpool, will be cheering them on from afar.
We also think there’s a chance Danny Ward may return to the club on loan, despite the fact Liverpool rejected their initial offer.
There’s no point the Welshman spending the campaign playing for our Under-23s, with Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet clearly ahead of him in the pecking order.
Ward’s value will rise considerably if he enjoys another strong season with Huddersfield – so he can either eventually return to Liverpool as a no.1 or be sold for a huge profit.
