Klopp names Liverpool’s new no.1 penalty taker…

James Milner missed his spot-kick against Maribor, Mo Salah bottled one v Huddersfield and Roberto Firmino messed up v Sevilla – so at the moment – Liverpool have a real issue when penalties used to be automatic goals last season.

Klopp was naturally asked who would be delegated to take the next one, but told reporters a more laissez-faire approach may be necessary.

“We had a designated penalty taker and it didn’t work, so maybe we should leave it open and see who feels best,” he said, which makes sense to us…

We’d personally stick Firmino on them again. He’s nearly always on the pitch and has scored one already this term.

(If not, Emre Can is German which is half the battle from 12-yards!)

But perhaps it’s smart to see which player wants it. Whatever happens, we need to convert it – as four missed in a row is unforgivable!
