The English forward was infamously signed by Liverpool for £35m in 2011, and remained our record transfer until Mo Salah’s signing from Roma broke it in summer 2017.
He was a serious flop, of course.
So for Chelsea to now buy the forward, who’s only hit double figures in the Premier League once, aged 29, is crazy.
Their fans are fuming about the proposed signing and Liverpool fans have enjoyed it on Twitter, too!

Chelsea paying £30M for Andy Carroll at this point in his career, even in this inflated market, is dumber than Liverpool buying him for £35M back in the day.
