It’s difficult to know how to deal with stories like this from a blog such as EOTK’s perspective.
On the one hand, they’re unbelievably annoying, damage the reputation and reliability of the industry and do everyone’s heads in.
On the other, they generate clicks, which is what keeps football blogs alive.
Although actually, EOTK would rather die than treat anything from Diario Gol or Don Balon as genuine ‘news’.
So for that reason, we won’t link to their websites or mention their claims in headlines; we’ll just rubbish the stories and move on.
Today’s nonsense involves Liverpool and Real Madrid – as it seemingly always does… (It’s almost like making up transfer rumours about big sides gets you more attention…?)
Don Balon state that Cristiano Ronaldo has sanctioned a move for Mo Salah, with a £71m summer bid likely. Firstly, he hasn’t, and secondly, £71m wouldn’t even buy Mo’s right-foot, let alone his left.
Diario Gol’s article is more hilarious; reckoning that Jurgen Klopp has earmarked Dani Carvajal, who has a £310m release-clause. We think the fact we have three right-backs already playing well in the Spaniard’s position may stop us from spending that kind of money on a 26-year-old fullback. Just a thought.
Multiple English publications have republished these stories with a view to tricking the reader.
Don’t fall for it. If possible, don’t click on it.
Have a good day!
