Klopp talks about Emre Can being on Juve’s bench…

Emre Can left Liverpool this summer, but nobody has really noticed.

The German missed the end of last campaign anyway due to injury, only featuring off the bench in the final, to little avail.

We secured Fabinho (yet to feature) and Naby Keita, who’s shown glimpses of genius, so it’s not like we’ve especially missed him, having won four from four so far.

Jurgen Klopp has suggested it’s no surprise that Can is struggling for minutes in Italy, too, due to the strength of the top European leagues.

“If a German international makes a move to England he probably doesn’t start as often (in the Premier League) as he did before,” he told the Telegraph.

“It happens in other countries too. Emre Can didn’t start so far for Juve. Will he be a starter?”

In Juve’s first three fixtures, Can’s played 44 minutes, with the likes of Khedira, Pjanic and Matuidi currently ahead of him in the pecking order.

He’ll get his chances eventually, but it’s up to Liverpool to show him he made a poor move by deciding to join Juve on a free.

Liverpool need silverware this term and to outperform The Old Lady in the Champions League in order to do this.
