Liverpool fans have been rightly worried about our fixture with Spurs on Saturday lunchtime because three of our players (two of which are automatic starters) have a fixture for Brazil late tonight – that would have given them very little time to return to England in time to play.
Alisson, Fabinho and Roberto Firmino are all in Tite’s squad and started the win over USA at the weekend, with the goalkeeper keeping a clean-sheet, Fabinho winning a penalty and Bobby scoring…
But thankfully, none of the trio are starting the game with El Salvador, which kicks off at 01:30 GMT, Wednesday.
This has been confirmed by Brazilian journalist Edgard Maciel de Sa, who names the starting XI as follows: Neto, Éder Militão, Marquinhos, Dedé, Alex Sandro, Casemiro, Douglas Costa, Arthur, Philippe Coutinho, Neymar and Richarlison.
There’s a chance our outfield payers might come off the bench, but now we just want to see them on a plane back as soon as possible.
It’s possible that we’ll join up with other European clubs and hire a private jet back from South America to Europe of course, as we did on multiple occasions last term.
