Bullish Klopp: PSG have never faced a team like my Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp has delivered some top quality comments before tonight’s Champions League clash with PSG.

The boss has claimed the perennial Ligue 1 champions should be just as worried about facing us as we are about facing them, with Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino set to go up against a fellow world-class attacking triumvirate in Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani.

Klopp’s also intimated he wouldn’t swap any of our stars with any of theirs, although in fairness, he’s not exactly going to say the opposite on the even of the game!

“I can’t prepare a team to face Paris St-Germain without showing them the strengths of Paris,” Klopp told the Telegraph. “But, on the other side, it’s quite difficult to make a preparation because they have never played against us. Us playing against them will look different to what they have faced so far this season – that’s the truth.

“I watched Paris. I watched them last year and I watched them this year, and it is impressive.

“They are good, really good, not only for Paris, but Kylian Mbappe, come on, what a World Cup he played. And Neymar we all know about his quality. [Angel] Di Maria, maybe he didn’t have the best time at Man United but all the rest of his career was outstanding. Cavani, a proper goal-getter.

“In the preparation, I have to make sure we know about it. I know we are quite good, and respecting them without getting afraid of them – but respecting them we have to.

“Do I have to compare them? I love my players, all of them, so I don’t want to change anything. I wouldn’t change them.”

At Anfield, the atmosphere will be electric and Klopp’s Reds will hopefully play a dynamic, pressing game.

As Liverpool’s boss suggests, this is not what PSG face every week in France, where teams seem to roll over in the most part.

If we can start quickly. put in some big tackles and make chances, PSG can be rattled – as we think the potential starting backline of Meunier, Bernat, Silva and Kimpembe can be rattled.
