Joe Gomez played a crucial role in England’s 3-2 victory over Spain last night in the UEFA Nations League.
Liverpool’s 21-year-old started alongside Harry Maguire at the back, in place of Manchester City’s John Stones, and did as good a job as could be expected.
Up against the likes of Rodrigo and Iago Aspas, Gomez produced a performance of utter composure, showing physicality when necessary.
He knows when to put his foot on the ball and pass, or throw himself in front of it!
It’s no wonder he and Virgil van Dijk have developed such a fantastic partnership this season, with many England fans recognising it as probably the best in the Premier League after seeing Gomez at first hand.
Normally, England fans on Twitter just say moronic things about Jordan Henderson, so it’s quite nice to see such consistent praise of a Red.
You can see it below:
Joe Gomez is amazing but still below John terry' standards

Joe Gomez was fucking absolutely amazing and is the best young CB alongside De Ligt. Been performing too good to say otherwise, literally made no mistake since he's started CB. Going to be world class one day soon.

Remember when some deluded football fan told me that James Tarkowski was a 'better player' and that Joe Gomez is overrated because he plays for Liverpool. 👀👀😬😂😂
