Daniel Sturridge missed an absolute sitter in the early stages of Red Star Belgrade v Liverpool – and not too long later, we were 2-0 down to the Serbians.
After great work from Sadio Mane down the left wing, the ball eventually fell to Sturridge, who only had to tap the ball into the net. But somehow, on his superb left-foot, he blazed over.
Watch the miss, below.
Imagine @DanielSturridge missed this🤦♂️

At the time of writing, Liverpool still have a chance of coming back, but it will certainly take a monumental effort.
Red Star bagged from a corner and then from range, with Alisson possibly being able to do better from the long shot.
Fans are blaming the terrible first-half on the miss that cost us. If we’d have scored, we’d have been in a very comfortable position and able to do damage on the break, with the crowd quietened.
@DanielSturridge shocking miss may come back to bite @LFC in the ass. #REDLIV

Absolutely awful this at the moment. Sturridge should’ve scored no question and we’ve shipped two cheap goals. Shocking

Sturridge puts that away, we are 1-0 up and in control. Now we're 2-0 down out of nowhere. They can just sit back now. We always have to do things the hard way
